While innovation often creates new business, there is a dynamic at play with Quantum Immunologics that raises Chuck Broes’ interest level another notch. The company, located in Tampa Florida, is in the process of developing an immunologic treatment for breast cancer that may positively impact other types of cancer as well.
Chuck Broes is enthusiastic about Quantum Immunologics' Individualized ImmunotherapyTM, the result of years of research by staff at the University of South Alabama College of Medicine and licensed by the South Alabama Medical Science Foundation. Beyond Quantum Immunologics’ specific progress is a growing global interest in cancer patients and a number of doctors testing fast track personalized treatments for certain types of cancer.
As Chuck Broes gathered his QI management team together, the individuals being considered were presented with not only a new venture but also the prospect of being involved in something bigger than company growth – the opportunity to bring cancer to its knees. In hindsight, the team assembled would have more in common than just a corporate address. Chuck Broes shares that for many on the management team, cancer has touched someone in their family. Quantum Immunologics is a privately held company. Chuck Broes is candid in sharing that many of the equity stakeholders have been touched by the disease as well. Chuck Broes reports that upon completion of successful trials and approval by the FDA, the company plans to market the treatment, initially in the United States, for the treatment of breast cancer. Studies regarding its use in other types of cancer, as well as a new cancer-screening tool are also projected by Chuck Broes and his team.
